1. What BetterSend does

BetterSend is a Chrome Extension that improves, translates, and explains messages inside Slack, WhatsApp, and LinkedIn. Processing only happens when you explicitly click Improve, Translate, or Explain — never automatically or in the background.

2. What we collect

• Account data: your email address and name, collected when you sign in via Google.
• Usage counts: the number of AI actions you perform per day, used to enforce plan limits. We store the count, not the content.
• Preferences: your chosen language and per-platform feature toggles, stored in your account settings.
• Plan status: whether you are on the Free or Pro plan, linked to your Stripe subscription.

5. Data retention

Your account data is retained for as long as your account is active. Daily usage counts are reset every day. If you delete your account, all personal data is removed within 30 days.

6. Cookies and local storage

The Chrome Extension uses chrome.storage.local to cache your settings locally — no tracking cookies. The web dashboard uses session cookies for authentication only.
