BetterSend vs LanguageTool
LanguageTool vs BetterSend for work messages
Pick LanguageTool if you write in several languages and want grammar, spelling and style checked in each of them, in your browser, Word, Google Docs and email. Pick BetterSend if you want to write a work message in your own language and send it as natural English in a chosen tone, in one click inside Slack, Teams or WhatsApp. LanguageTool corrects what you wrote; BetterSend rewrites it into the English message you meant.
By Rubens Jr, Founder of BetterSend
LanguageTool is a grammar, spelling and style checker that supports more than 30 languages. It runs as a browser add-on for Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Opera, as add-ons for Gmail, Google Docs and Word, and as apps for Windows, macOS and iOS. Premium adds unlimited AI rephrasing that can make a sentence more formal, more fluent or shorter.
BetterSend is a message tool rather than a checker. It adds Improve, Translate and Explain buttons inside twelve work platforms and a desktop app for the native Slack, WhatsApp, Teams and Discord apps. Improve takes a draft in any language and returns English in one of 13 tones; Translate and Explain act on messages you receive.
BetterSend is for
Non-native English speakers who want a finished English work message in a specific tone, written from a draft in their own language.
LanguageTool is for

Verdict
If you write in several languages, or write documents, LanguageTool is the better and more complete checker, and it covers Word, Google Docs and email clients that BetterSend does not touch. If your problem is sending work messages in English when English is not your first language, BetterSend does that in one click inside the chat, tone included, and its free plan is enough to see the difference on a week of messages.
