How to cancel DeepL Pro, and what to use instead
Log in to your DeepL account, open Subscription, select the plan and click Cancel subscription; the status changes to Canceled with the termination date. Do it at least one day before the next scheduled payment, because an annual plan is paid for the whole year up front and DeepL gives no credit for the months you do not use. Signing out or deleting the app does not cancel. If you paid for DeepL to translate work messages, the free alternative below writes and translates them in one step.

How to cancel DeepL on its website

Log in to your DeepL account.

Under Subscription, select the subscription you want to cancel.

Click Cancel subscription at the bottom of the Subscription page.

Check that the status reads Canceled, with the termination date and the end of the billing period. A confirmation email arrives on that date.
Before you cancel DeepL
- Cancel at least one day before the next scheduled payment. The plan stays active until the end of the current billing period and is then deactivated; no credit is offered for the rest of a period.
- An annual plan is paid for the full year up front, after the free trial. The 30-day trial converts into a paid subscription automatically.
- Bought in the App Store or Google Play: cancel in that store; the DeepL website cannot. Bought through a DeepL partner: the cancel option is missing from the account, and the partner cancels.
- A refund is possible if you cancelled during the free trial or within the right of withdrawal: for consumers, 14 days without giving a reason, reimbursed within 14 days. Eligibility is checked through the support chat.
- Glossaries, saved translations and style rules are deleted 90 days after the plan ends. A cancellation can be reversed with Reactivate subscription in the yellow banner while the plan is still running.
- DeepL Pro Individual costs US$ 10.49 a month, or US$ 8.74 a month billed annually, in the US; 7.49 euros a month billed annually in the EU, as of October 2026. DeepL Write Pro is a separate add-on.

Common questions
I deleted the DeepL app. Is my subscription cancelled?
No. Its help center says signing out or deleting the app does not terminate the subscription. Cancel it under Subscription in your account, or in the App Store or Google Play if you bought it there.
Does DeepL refund the rest of an annual plan?
No credit is offered for cancelling before the end of a period. A refund is possible only for a cancellation during the free trial or within the 14-day right of withdrawal.
Where did my glossaries go after cancelling?
DeepL deletes glossaries, saved translations and style rules 90 days after the plan ends. Export what you need before that.
