Cancelling Grammarly
How to cancel Grammarly Pro, and what to use instead
Sign in at grammarly.com, open Account, then Subscription, and click Cancel Subscription at the bottom of the page; confirm, pick a reason, and the renewal stops. You keep every Pro feature until the end of the period you already paid for, and Grammarly refunds only where the law requires it. If what you paid for was work messages in Slack, Teams or Gmail, the free alternative below does that part, with no trial that converts into a charge.

Before you cancel Grammarly
- Cancelling stops the automatic renewal. You keep access to all paid features until the end of the current billing period, as the help center states.
- Bought through the Apple App Store: cancel in your Apple subscriptions, not on the Grammarly site, and ask Apple for any refund. Grammarly links to Apple's instructions.
- Refunds are issued only if required by law. A charge made in error is handled through a support request.
- The Pro trial asks for a card and converts into a paid plan unless cancelled; Grammarly sends an email reminder two days before it ends. Cancelling a trial ends it immediately.
- Pro costs US$ 12 per member a month billed annually, or US$ 30 billed monthly, as of October 2026. The company has been called Superhuman since October 2025; the product keeps the Grammarly name, and cancelling in your Grammarly account applies to the other Superhuman apps.
What to use instead, for free
- 50 AI actions a month, every month, with no trial that runs out and no card. Each Improve, Translate or Explain is one action.
- 3 tones (Professional, Friendly, Fix Grammar) and 10 free uses of the Pro tones, to try the others on real messages.
- Write in Portuguese, Spanish or any other language and get natural English back, in one click.
- Translate and Explain on the messages you receive, in 44 languages.
- The desktop app for Mac and Windows puts the same button in the Slack, Teams, WhatsApp and Discord apps, on the same free plan.
- Your message is sent only when you click, never stored and never used to train models.

Common questions
Do I lose Grammarly Pro the moment I cancel?
No. Cancelling turns off the renewal; the paid features stay until the end of the period you already paid for.
Does Grammarly refund an annual plan?
Its help center says refunds are issued only if required by law. If you bought through the App Store, the refund request goes to Apple.
What keeps working for free after I cancel?
Grammarly's free plan keeps spelling and grammar corrections, a tone detector and 100 AI prompts a month. For rewriting work messages in a chosen tone, from any language, BetterSend gives 50 actions a month free.
Is BetterSend a replacement for Grammarly?
For work messages in Slack, Teams, WhatsApp and Gmail, yes: write in your language, press Improve, pick one of 13 tones. For checking documents as you type, it is not; the alternative page says where Grammarly is still better.
